WE DO THE BEST DOG FRIENDLY WEDDINGS IN SCOTLAND & HERE'S WHY...

ROBYN & CONNOR - Kilchurn Castle, Loch Awe
"Thank you to the whole WWW team who made yesterday possible! Jenn was absolutely incredible and made me feel like a queen all morning, Sarah and James were so easy going and didn't make Connor feel awkward at all (that's the real goal cos I love the camera but he gets a bit nervous!) - they were both our fairy godmother/father for the day, helping with everything that they could. The flowers were gorgeous and smelled amazing. Claire was humorous and really down to earth, making the whole vow reading thing a lot less daunting! And, last but not least, the picnic, oh lord the picnic. Absolutely incredible, from all of the little touches like name places for our pups to the gorgeous food we tucked into, the whole thing was amazing and we wished it was longer so we could keep eating!! It really is a fantastic team and everyone played their part to help our day go amazingly, so thank you to everyone for that! " - Robyn & Connor
DOG FRIENDLY WEDDINGS IN SCOTLAND
What’s better than a secret wedding at a Scottish castle? How about a secret wedding, at a Scottish castle, with two very cute canines?
It’s safe to say that us Wee Wild Weddings lot love dogs. We might even prefer them to people (ssshh!) so whenever a couple tentatively asks us if “the pups can come along to the wedding too?” we let out a resounding cheer and do a happy dance. As Robyn and Connor found out when they first got in touch.
WEDDING WITH DOGS AT KILCHURN CASTLE
Scotland is very dog friendly. You’ll often bump into canine companions down at the pub, enjoying a sausage at a local cafe or chilling on the decking of one of the many lovely lodges dotted around the lochs. So it stands to reason that we actively welcome your doggy pals at weddings too.
When we first start making plans for your elopement just let us know that you’ll be bringing along a furry friend (or two!) and we can make sure that we give you a choice of dog friendly ceremony locations and accommodation.
The lovely Robyn and Connor made the epic journey from Kent to Loch Awe (basically the middle of nowhere) by camper van. Accompanied by their super cute puggy pals, Lilo and Gigi. This was a real adventure for them all, and they’d told no one that they were actually heading up to Scotland to get married. It was a proper secret elopement. Amazing!
STUNNING VIEWS AT LOCH AWE ECO CABINS
Robyn and Connor were staying just a few miles away from Kilchurn Castle, in the beautiful Loch Awe Eco Cabins. We always recommend this place to couples getting married in or around Argyll and Bute. The super stylish lodges look amazing against the backdrop of the Highlands and are so luxurious. Plus they’re eco friendly and dog friendly too.
That morning we joined Robyn, Connor, Lilo and Gigi at the cabin. The view out over Loch Awe was incredible and everyone was mega excited about the day. The wonderful Jennifer Mathieson was on hand to sort hair and makeup – all arranged by us of course. When we say we can sort all your suppliers for you, we really do mean it! Robyn and Connor had also added on a videographer so that their photographer (hi there, that’s me, Sarah from Joy Story!) and videographer could act as their two witnesses. In Scotland you need two witnesses for the ceremony. Celebrants and dogs don’t count unfortunately. So, James from Strangeworx Wedding Films and I were pulling double duty that day.
INVOLVING YOUR DOGS IN YOUR WEDDING DAY
Lilo and Gigi were heavily involved in Robyn and Connor’s elopement. They even looked the part with special flower collars and pearl leads. They were both on their best behaviour, which was made even more impressive when we realised that the field Robyn and Connor were getting married in was full of sheep! Luckily the sheep in that particular field are very chill and the dogs were super well behaved so all was well.
After a very sweet ceremony, in a lochside field with views over to Kilchurn Castle (one of Scotland’s most photographed castles don’cha know) it was time for that Wee Wild speciality, a post ceremony luxury picnic. As always Scottish Wild Picnics had done a sterling job. They’d set everything up at a very pretty community garden and had even made sure to include the dogs too. Lilo and Gigi had their own place settings, complete with name tags and enjoyed wee bone treat favours. It was adorable. Of course, we didn’t leave their ‘paw-rents’ out. Robyn and Connor had oodles of delicious food to tuck into as they reminisced on their amazing day.
