Wedding Packages Scotland - Ardoch Lodge Elopement
Abby & Ed's Outdoor Elopement Scotland at Ardoch Lodge
"Thank you so so much for all your hard work today, which made our day so perfect. We didn't really know what to expect, but we felt so happy and at ease and could not have asked for more. We asked Ellis what his favourite part of the day was and his answer was 'meeting all the nice ladies' - you were all amazing with him and really made his day. Thank you again! All our love and best wishes, Abby & Ed xxx
Get ready for the cutest Scottish elopement. Honestly, these three are the sweetest, most adorable family and their ceremony was just everything. We even got to moonlight as their witnesses which was very exciting!
So, meet Abby, Ed and their wee boy, Ellis. They travelled up from England to elope at the idyllic Ardoch Lodge in the Trossachs National Park.
Just as an aside, to get to Ardoch Lodge you have to drive through Callander. Now, Callander is home to the world’s best bakery. It’s true. Mhor Bread is the greatest. So if you ever find yourself in Callander then you have to make a trip. Get yourself a loaf or a pie. You won’t regret it! The entire Wee Wild Weddings team are big fans.
Now you’ve made a note of that, back to the elopement! It was SO hot. So, so hot. Remember that heatwave back in August? Yep, that’s when Abby and Ed tied the knot. Ardoch has a beautiful Walled Garden, it was just the most perfect, private spot for their ceremony. There wasn’t another soul around. Ellis could (and did) run wild and spent most of his time playing and hiding in the bushes.
Beautiful, Unique Callander Elopement
Abby and Ed’s ceremony was super cute. Ellis watched it from the shade of a hedge, only rushing out to hang over the ring and then dashing back to the cool! I was a witness, along with another Wee Wild Weddings team member, Jennifer the hair and makeup artist. Isn’t that a nice little all inclusive package, you don’t even need to sort witnesses, we’ll sort it all for you! So it really was a private ceremony for the two of them. Much to Abby’s relief as Ed rapped some of his wedding vows! I’ve never seen someone look so besotted and in love but also wanting to curl up with embarrassment. Somehow Abby managed it! It was such a good laugh though!

Abby and Ed got ready separately, with Ellis running between them both. They did a first look as neither knew what the other was going to be wearing. They were so excited to see each other! Ellis was positively giddy as he waited for his Dad to turn around. Now, as you’ve probably guessed from the rapped vows, Ed is a bit of an extrovert and there was no way he was going to settle for a plain old wedding suit. He went for pink! It was an amazing suit and we all loved it. The colour perfectly matched the embroidery on Abby’s gorgeous Needle and Thread wedding dress.
Ardoch Lodge has an old Airstream out the front so we took a few photos in front of that. Feeling those retro vibes! Then it was time to head over to the Walled Garden for their ceremony.
Abby and Ed’s elopement was so lovely. It was the perfect setting for them, surrounded by nature. Ed is an outdoor education officer. He is a big old fan of the outdoors so this spot was ideal. We all learnt a lot from him too as he pointed out all the different flowers, plants and bugs to us. Thanks Ed!
Post ceremony it was time to take a stroll around the grounds, get some pictures of the three of them (and just Abby and Ed when Ellis was off exploring). They are the best little family and we had a good giggle as we wandered around. When we got back to the Walled Garden their picnic was all laid out for them, it looked so good! After a few more photos we left them to tuck in and revel in their newly married’ness.
Scottish elopements are our jam! So if you’re thinking of running away with your love and tying the knot somewhere beautiful then give us a call.
