Could This Be One Of The Best Places to Get Married in Scotland?

SARAH & CHRISTOPHER - MONACHYLE MHOR
"We are so happy that we chose to get Wee Wild Wed. I never imagined that we would have the perfect wedding but we totally did - with a big thanks to the team. Communication and planning were effortless. We didn't feel under pressure at any point. It was perfect from beginning to end. Everything was amazing. Thank you all so much." - Sarah & Christopher
Get Married In Scotland - Weddings at Monachyle Mhor
While Sarah and Christopher’s elopement was top secret, there is no secret to the fact that Monachyle Mhor is one of our all time favourite places to get married in Scotland. It’s the full package – mountains, lochs, great food, fab accommodation. It’s got it all.
The pastel pink house sits at the foot of the mountains, nestled between two lochs. The landscape around is epic, basically, Scotland in a nutshell. So many places for amazing photos and incredible views whichever way you turn.
Sarah and Christopher got ready separately that morning, before meeting for the sweetest first look ever. We tried to get their cute kids involved but they were having none of it, they were having way too much fun running wild in the courtyard. And who can blame them!
Before we move on to the ceremony let’s take a moment to appreciate the ADORABLE matching Converse and heart shaped sunglasses on Sarah and Skye. Just the cutest. And the boys didn’t let the side down, they both looked ace in their matching suits. Kit was loving looking like his Dad.
Super cute Scottish elopement
First look in the bag we headed down to the loch for their ceremony. Standing on the banks of a loch, saying your vows, watching your kids giggling together as they skim stones…there are few things more romantic. The romance was ever so slightly spoiled by an overconfident swan though…yep, you read that right. Literally in the middle of the vows, this swan decided to waddle up and take a little munch on Sarah’s dress. This swan is brazen and has interrupted so many lochside wedding ceremonies. Well, we’re assuming it’s the same swan, hate to think there are multiple ceremony hijacking swans out there! It was pretty funny and the kids loved it.
We got real lucky with the weather considering this is Scotland. It was June afterall, but we never like to take anything for granted. The whole day was so chilled. We were mid portrait session when Sarah declared that she was so happy she could cry! Everything had been even more special than she’d ever imagined. Result! We are all about the happy tears!
It was super sweet to see how much Sarah, Christopher and the kids relaxed into the day and had the absolute best time together. That morning Sarah had been a little nervous, worried the kids were going to cause merry mayhem but she had absolutely nothing to fear. They are a super cute and super nice pair. Everyone thinks their kids are rotters, but they never are. We think they’re all great!
We can’t do a Wee Wild Weddings post without a hat tip to the mega Scottish Wild Picnics, who excelled themselves with Sarah and Christopher’s luxury picnic. Got to love the mini setup for the kids too, they’d thought of everything.
