Intimate Weddings for Two Scotland - Dreamy Lochside Ceremony
Becky & Imran left the big city behind them to elope in the peaceful Scottish Highlands!
"Aw thank you so much! The photos are gorgeous! You made it so easy, there was no pressure, we were able to be relaxed and enjoy our day, thank you so much. I'm not sure I can express how grateful we are! Becky & Imran x"
Meet Becky and Imran, they are the sweetest couple and between them, they must have two of the best jobs ever. Becky restores furniture which we love and Imran, wait for this, Imran is a Palaeontologist at the Natural History Museum. So cool. I love my job but I’ve definitely got career envy!
The two of them headed up from London for their elopement at Monachyle Mhor. They wanted an intimate wedding, just the two of them, and we were more than happy to oblige and put it into action for them.
We need to tell you all about their first look. For those who aren’t down with wedding lingo (and we know that’s most people who aren’t wedding obsessives like us!) a first look is when the couple sets eyes on each other ahead of their ceremony. It’s a chance for the two of them to have a moment together, get some of the emotion out the way and it really does help calm those pre-wedding nerves. We love them!
So, back to Imran and Becky’s amazing first look. Imran is Pakistani and had no idea that his mum had been helping Becky find a Pakistani wedding dress. He was convinced she’d be wearing a more traditional British number so just look at his face when he sees Becky! Thanks to COVID (urgh!) there had been a last minute panic that the dress wouldn’t arrive over here in time but thankfully it did and Becky looked incredible. We love that green!
As we wandered down to the lochside we bumped into the super cute Monachyle Mhor donkeys. We love these little guys and, if they’re around, they love wishing wedding couples well (and getting a few pats too!)
When we reached the lochside it was smirry rain. Nooo! This wasn’t in the plans! We know our Scottish weather though so decided to give it five minutes and, as always happens, the sun came out and it cleared right up. See, we’re not just elopement experts, we’re well up on our Scottish weather too!
Our amazing Briar Rose Designs had done a top job with the flowers. We loved Becky’s colourful bouquet and that floral hoop as the ceremony backdrop was just beautiful. The perfect touch.
After their intimate ceremony it was time for photos. Becky had ignored tradition and gone for bridal trainers. We like her style! They were very handy for getting about too. Especially when we walked to the top of the hill for some pictures.
They rounded off their elopement with the most perfect picnic by Scottish Wild Picnics. Complete with a tiny little cheesecake wedding cake. As we left they were enjoying some Prosecco in their wee tent. The best end to the very best day.
