"Thank you so much for organizing everything, it felt like it flowed as smoothly as it could have. Everything was perfect." - Paige & Duncan

Want to know how to travel across the world to get married and yet still make your wedding completely, utterly and incomparably you? Read on. Paige and Duncan did just that and ROCKED it.

Loch Lomond micro wedding

Paige and Duncan travelled over from America for their small wedding at Loch Lomond. They’d brought the entire family with them as well. Who can blame them eh! When you’re saying your vows somewhere as epic as this then you definitely want to show it off!

Using one of our all inclusive small wedding packages Scotland, Paige and Duncan had a day that was absolutely tailored to them. We had many chats, listened to their ideas, suggested a few of our own and then we took everything out of their hands and made the whole wedding stress free. Which is exactly what they wanted, especially as they were planning their day from thousands of miles away!

Where to stay ahead of your Loch Lomond wedding?

It’s a good question. After all, you want to have a decent kip before you get wed, that’s for sure! Somewhere you can get ready in peace and a place you can hang out afterwards. Either to chill or to party, choice is yours!

At Wee Wild Weddings we are big fans of Stuckgowan Estates. They own three, big, beautiful and very fancy country houses which are perfect for group stays. All three houses are absolutely gorgeous, and in amazing locations. They’ve got plenty of room for you and your loved ones to be together, explore the area and fully celebrate you two! We highly recommend them –  great houses, loads of space, fab locations and the company is super nice to deal with as well. Winning. Go check them out.

Paige and Duncan were staying in Stuckgowan, right on the shores of Loch Lomond. The views out over the loch were as incredible as you can imagine. Their whole family was in complete awe. We always love hearing people exclaim about how beautiful Scotland is, we’re very proud of our country. And rightly so!

Paige and Duncan got ready ‘American style’. Which was fab, basically they got ready together in the morning and then we went off to do photos ahead of them getting married. It meant once the ceremony was over they could just hang with their loved ones, enjoy the day and know that the majority of their portraits were in the bag. Plus it gave them some time together ahead of the ceremony.

They are the most adorable couple and didn’t stop smiling once. Plus, they’re both super stylish too. Honestly, look at them. Amazing.

Once they were ready we went for a wee stroll down to Loch Lomond and Firkin Point – one of our favourite spots overlooking the loch. It was so peaceful and tranquil. The perfect time to get a bit romantic and slightly (ok, very) giddy for their ceremony.

It was a super sunny day, the skies were so blue and it was, shock horror, warm! Paige was convinced she was going to be freezing, so had brought a big wool cloak all the way from America. Very Braveheart, it looked great. Her gran had a matching cape which was really cute.

Their ceremony took place on the lawn of Stuckgowan, with those amazing views out over the loch. Paige and Duncan did all the things at their wedding – ring warming, unity candle with the mums, handfasting…all of the Scots traditions in there. And why not!

As soon as they were married the fizz popped and there were toasts from their family (and a lot of cheers!). After hugs, chatter and well wishes Paige and Duncan went for a wander round the grounds. We discovered a magical fairy glen, I kid you not! It was literally off the driveway of the house and they’d not seen it before. They’d been staying there for three days! Always explore your surroundings folks, you never know what you may find. Especially in Scotland. There’s probably fairy glens all over the place.

The day ended, as all Wee Wild Weddings do, with a luxury picnic. There’s no greater way to celebrate your wee wedding. Paige and Duncan drank from the quaich (one of our favourite Scottish wedding rituals)  and then everyone tucked in. Top work Scottish Wild Picnics
